Villars is a vibrant resort with a wide variety of skiing from easy and intermediate runs to challenging off-piste. The total area covers over 120km of piste with everything from trails through the woods, the chaux-ronde snow park to glacier skiing at over 3000m. It is an excellent resort for beginners and more experienced skiers and under 9s ski for free! It is south facing and gets the best of the sunshine in the Alps. The lift system is efficient with three main access points to the ski area which means hardly any queues! There are plenty of long descents and a variety of routes back to the resort to suit all abilities. Further afield it is a 45minute trip to either Verbier or Gstaad.
There are several excellent ski schools who offer everything from group and private ski or snowboard lessons, race training, freestyle courses to guiding. There are plenty of options for hiring skis and we can even have them delivered to the chalet. Good mountain restaurants are plentiful and cater to all tastes. Indeed, one (Col de Soud) was recently voted the best Roesti in the Alps. We can book for you in advance.
The rack rail which climbs up from the village to the main ski area stops near three different restaurants on route and so makes the whole area easily accessible for non-skiers. Other winter activities include guided snow-shoeing, an indoor and outdoor ice-rink and ten-pin bowling. New for 2016 will be a thermal swimming pool. There is also a spa facility at the Chalet RoyAlp hotel.
